The first step to getting set up with fieldmargin is creating a farm. This is where all of your notes, fields and features will go; it’s the place where your all your information about the farm will live. You can create up to 3 farms on the free plan, each with up to 500 hectares (1235 acres) of field area. You can also invite other people to them so that they can access and collaborate on them - here's how.

Mobile

  1. First enter the name of your farm.

  2. Either press the target button to locate yourself (you need to allow us to see your position; fieldmargin works best out and about when you can see your location on a map) or type your farm’s address in the box at the top. Swipe the map to get the centre point precise (perhaps the farmyard or office) and once you’re happy, press 'CREATE'.

  3. If you want to add more farms tap on the farm name at the top of the screen and select 'Add New Farm' (iOS) or click the blue '+' button in the bottom left (Android).

Web

  1. First enter the name of your farm.

  2. Search for your farm’s location by entering the business name, postcode, address or town in the search box and clicking search. You can also pan and zoom the map to refine the area. Mark the centre of your farm by clicking its location on the map. Once you’re happy, click 'CREATE'.

  3. If you want to add more farms click on the farm name at the top of the screen and click 'Add a new farm' at the top of the menu.

That’s it! You’ve started.
