How to set up a data monitoring site

Set up monitoring sites for places on your farm where you regularly take measurements so that you can add readings wherever you are.

Monitoring sites allows you to keep a record of measurements taken on your farm. Set up monitoring sites for places on your farm where you regularly take measurements then add readings wherever you are on the farm using the mobile app. 

Mobile

  1. Tap the hamburger menu in the top left of the screen and select 'DATA'.

  2. On the top of the screen select "+ Add a monitoring site".

  3. Type the name of the data that you would like to record, for example ‘Rainfall’.

  4. Add a location by tapping "Place pin on map." Zoom and scroll the map to choose where you will be taking readings. When you have the correct location tap "Done".

  5. Select the metric you would like to record by tapping (+ Add metric). 

  6. Type the name of a metric that you would like to record.

  7. Select the type of data collected, it can be can be temperature, percentage, numbers or text. If the data collected is numbers or text you have the option to type a unit for the metric (e.g. mm, m/s, g, ml).

  8. You can add multiple metrics to track at a single location by tapping ‘Add metric’.

  9. Click ‘CREATE’ to complete your monitoring site.

Web

  1. Select the ‘DATA’ tab and click on ‘Add monitoring site’. 

  2. Give the monitoring site a name, for example ‘Weather Station’. 

  3. Click on the farm map to set the location that the data is collected from. 

  4. Type the name of a metric that you would like to record, for example ‘Rainfall’.

  5. Select the type of data collected, it can be can be temperature, percentage, numbers or text. If the data collected is numbers or text you have the option to type a unit for the metric (e.g. mm, m/s, g, ml).

  6. You can add multiple metrics to track at a single location by clicking ‘Add more metrics’.

  7. Click ‘CREATE’ to complete your monitoring site.
